Just created a community to encompass all of Depp's "dark" characters and subjects: darksidedepp. I hope that people will come and contribute "dark" POTC fics with either a side of Jack we don't see, or whatever.

I've created a new community, potc_universe, for the purpose of promoting historical detail in POTC fanfic. If you're like me and you squee over things like the proper names of sails or lice-ridden characters, come on over! You can share links to historical resources, ask questions or start a discussion.

artaxastra and I are running potcfest, an all-pairings, all-characters Pirates of the Caribbean fest. You can submit prompts from now until September 3, and claiming of prompts will begin September 4.

CotBP_fandom is for people who are totally fannish about CotBP, but not so happy with the sequels. It's for people who want to read and write fic that doesn't take the sequels into account, or who want to talk about the characters as they were in the first film, without having to figure in the way they changed in DMC (and are likely to change even more in AWE ( Read more... )

My, er ... "pirate" would probably appreciate the least being called that, of all the POTC characters (except maybe the Navyboys and Gov.
